Meet Coach Dave
Building Better Athletes. Building Better Habits.
As a parent, I know you're trusting someone with more than your child's athletic development. You're trusting them with their confidence, their mindset, and their experience in sports.
That responsibility is something I take seriously.
I grew up in a big family where competition was part of everyday life. Whether it was basketball in the driveway or games in the backyard, my brothers and I were always pushing each other to improve. One lesson stuck with me from an early age:
Good habits create good results.
That belief became the foundation of everything I do today and inspired the motto of Relentless Athletics:
Every Rep Matters.
Every throw, every swing, every defensive rep, and every sprint is an opportunity to build habits that athletes will carry into games—and beyond sports.
Why I Started Coaching
Like many parents, I found my way into youth sports because of my daughters.
Watching them develop a love for softball opened my eyes to how much coaching matters at a young age. There are countless dedicated volunteers who generously give their time to youth sports, and those programs are incredibly important to our communities.
At the same time, I saw how easy it is for young athletes to develop bad habits when fundamentals aren't consistently taught or corrected. Young athletes don't know the difference between a habit that helps them and one that limits them later.
That's where I believe I can make a difference.
My goal isn't to replace what town programs provide—it's to complement them by giving athletes focused instruction, quality repetitions, and the confidence that comes from doing things the right way.
My Coaching Experience
I’ve had the privilege of coaching multiple youth softball teams at the town level and currently coach within the Chaos Softball organization. I work with athletes across the 8U and 10U age groups and help lead skill-development sessions for the program.
I’ve also been fortunate to learn from many great coaches over the years. Whether through club softball, winter clinics, town programs, or conversations with experienced family members and friends, I’ve tried to learn from every coaching environment I’ve been part of. Those experiences have helped me continue improving how I teach fundamentals, organize practices, communicate with young athletes, and create drills that translate into games.
Before coaching softball, I played college basketball, where I learned firsthand that success isn’t built on talent alone. It comes from discipline, preparation, teamwork, and doing the small things consistently.
I continue to bring those lessons—and the lessons shared with me by other coaches—into every practice and training session I run today.
My Coaching Philosophy
At Relentless Athletics, development always comes before trophies.
I believe athletes improve fastest when they understand why they're doing something—not just what to do. Every session is built around four core principles:
Fundamentals First – Strong mechanics create confident athletes.
Quality Repetitions – Every meaningful rep builds confidence and consistency.
Positive Coaching – Athletes learn best when they're challenged, encouraged, and supported.
Game Transfer – Every drill should prepare athletes for real game situations.
I don't believe in wasting time with meaningless drills or endless conditioning. Every minute should help athletes become more confident, more prepared, and more successful when the game starts.
My Promise to Parents
When your athlete trains with Relentless Athletics, my goal is simple:
Build confidence through preparation.
Teach fundamentals that last.
Create an environment where effort, respect, and accountability matter.
Help every athlete leave better than they arrived.
Whether your child is just beginning their athletic journey or preparing for competitive softball, they deserve coaching that is intentional, encouraging, and focused on long-term development.
Because in the end…
Every Rep Matters.
